Aren't plants the most amazing things?
This year we have our first decent crop of mandarins.
This bowl represents about an 1/8 of the tree's bounty.
 
The fruit is sublime.
Sweet, juicy and just the right amount of tart.
It's an Emperor variety and the tree must be about 3 to 4 years old.

White Nectarines

In my last post I mentioned White Nectarines.
It's the first time our tree has fruited - I think this is the 2nd year it has been in the ground.
It made about 15 fruits.
Here's what's left.
They are especially perfect - we don't like soft fruit.
But we don't like juiceless fruit either.
It has to be juuuuuust right.
And hooray!!
They are.

Baby Fruit Parade

When that world food shortage kicks in,
we'll be right for fruit.
We can probably feed the rest of Ararat, too.
And neighbouring towns.
And neighbouring small countries.

Oh, and we have a Loquat tree and a Pomegranate tree too.
But they haven't made any babies yet.
